Last night turned out to be really nice. I called my mom and asked her if she liked her grandchildren. Foolish woman said YES. So I told her she better come and take them away for the evening or I was gonna wring their necks. I got to have a nice evening with Boo and a new friend that just had a baby. We went out to dinner and talked for a long time with no interruptions for sippys or potty breaks or snacks.... I feel more relaxed now. I needed the time off.
So I am not sure what is on the agenda today but I think I may brave taking all of them to the beach...alone. Pray that we all make it back alive and in one piece!
Brady's not so sure it's a good idea...

It didn't dawn on me until just now reading this, what Tiff mentioned about both you & I calling our youngest Boo.
For the record, I used the nickname first because Champ was enamored of the Boobahs. It was his first word after all. Which is why I call him Boo. It's a nickname just between us. With Ace it was Bubba.
Hang in there Kris, don't let the kids drown you! Want to take all 5 to the park early Thursday?
aaww Brady looks so cute!! :)
Have fun at the beach if you go.
Stace - That's funny that we would pick the same nickname... I had heard you call him Boobah but never Boo. It IS a cute nickname. I love it. It just suits him so well. I saw a cute little T shirt that says "Mommy's little Boo" on it. We should get those!
Beads - the beach was a great time. My parents came with us so I had help. Whew.!
I'm TOTALLY going to use that line to get my mom to babysit next weekend. LOL. Thanks for the tip!
When my kids lived close they didn't need a line to get a baby sitter. I'm sure your mother doesn't either. Everybody needs some free time.
Add us to the Boo list, we call Leah Boo all the time.
Glad you got out of the house...that is the only way we can stay sane for our kids, to get away from them.
Yeahhhh- good for you, Kristin!! First of all for voicing your need and secondly for getting away.
Glad you could go out for a while. Are there no church ladies around who can take your kids one day/evening a week??
This was always a pet peeve of mine. Where are all the older and retired women whose kids are grown? Why can't they help out?? Families are spread out all over the country, so many older women are far away from their own grandchildren. Are they so pre-occupied with Red-hat society, crochet and yardwork that they can't lend a hand once in a while?? Have they forgotten what it's like to be an exhausted Mom with no help??? Where are the other military wives who could swap babysitting for a few hours some evening?
They need to get their butts in gear and help out the younger mothers in the church/military who have their hands full and are fit-to-B-tied!! With little family ever around, I've pretty much raised my 4 kids with few breaks or date nights with my man. That's just NOT right and when my kids are older, I'm going to try to reach out to some tired Moms.
If I lived near you, I'd offer you a Mom's night out. Once you already have 4 kids running around, what's 3 more?! (end of rant)
