I love Valentine's Day. I always have. Maybe because I have the greatest Dad in the whole world. When I was little, he always had a special card for me and little gift - usually a smaller version of what he gave my mom. He would remind me, just remember I am your FIRST Valentine. I felt so special and so loved. This continued up through high school (when he would begrudgingly "share" me with the latest enfatuation) and on until I got married. The Valentines Day after I got married, I heard the phone ring late at night. It was my dad leaving a message on my answering maching. "I guess you aren't there....Happy Valentines Day. I guess I'm not your Valentine anymore, thanks to Dan. I hate Dan." (you have to know of course that my Dad and Dan are the best of friends). It was cute and sad. Dan may be the love of my life, but my Daddy was first. Happy Valentines Day!

That is so sweet! Wish I was still my Dad's Valentine. I didn't really have a chance to know him & today we're not exactly close. Sad... He's just never had room in his heart to really connect.
I am so lucky to have grown up with such a great family. It always makes me sad to hear that someone has missed out on this great father-daughter relationship. At least you can have it with the Lord.
