There are other new age books to really get you away from traditional stuff and open your mind, ESPECIALLY for mothers.
I can't do much single handedly about the war except tell people about some excellent books (and we all know who to vote for!!). Open your mind. Good luck!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20893936.post-68925381595802310032008-06-11T04:43:00.000-07:002008-06-11T04:43:00.000-07:00I started a book club at work because alot of us h...I started a book club at work because alot of us had gotten out of reading. The club reads one book a month and then we meet, eat, and talk about it. It's fun. Some of the books we have read are Pontoon by Garrison Keillor, Good Harbor by Anita Diamont who also wrote the Red Tent which I have heard good reviews on, I like Sue Miller who has quite a few good books. I just finished Let's Roll by Lisa Beamer which was very good. It's about her life with her husband Todd Beamer who died on the plane that went down in PA
on 9/11. Currently Reading The Joy Luck Club. I love reading different types of books. Oh and have you read The Deep End of the Ocean? That was really good.Ginnyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02180173959999360212noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20893936.post-20367874145906711242008-06-10T22:28:00.000-07:002008-06-10T22:28:00.000-07:00Yes, I know at least one more James Patterson - S...Yes, I know at least one more James Patterson - Sam's letters to jennifer. If you haven't read these you might like "The memory Keepers Daughter", "The Historian", "Dog of Babel" (could be dogs, I can't remember, it has been a while since I read that one), "The Incident of the Curious Dog at Midnight" (I'm not sure if that is the right title, but it involves curious dog and is about a boy with autism), hmmmmmm, when I think of more I will let you know. I devoue books and have read so many it is hard to keep track. The only one I liked by anita Shreve was "The Weight of Water".Stacyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08284750817106671867noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20893936.post-18938682149934274152008-06-10T18:24:00.000-07:002008-06-10T18:24:00.000-07:00I actually just read 2 of James Patterson's romanc...I actually just read 2 of James Patterson's romances in the last few weeks - Sunday at Tiffany's and Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas. Are there others? I really liked those. And I have read a few Anita Shreve's a long time ago. I'll have to go see what else she has. Thanks!!Gingers Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13847703944151722742noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20893936.post-49092601062692660922008-06-10T18:07:00.000-07:002008-06-10T18:07:00.000-07:00I found your blog again! Anyway, try James Patterson, not his cross or womens murder clubseries, he has some "romance" type books, although you might like the womens murder club ones, they aren't intense (they are the # books). I don't remember what they are called. Also Anita Shreve has some good ones.Stacyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08284750817106671867noreply@blogger.com
