Cinderella

I got a sad email today. I don't know if you have ever heard of Steven Curtis Chapman. He's incredible singer and song writer - we actually used some of his music in our wedding ceremony. He's an incredibly gifted and Godly man.

The email I received told me that just a few days ago his 5 year old daughter was killed in a tragic accident. Her older brother, a teenager I believe, was backing up the car in their driveway when he hit little Maria Chapman who had the terrible timing of running behind the car at that moment when she was running out to greet her brother.

Steven Curtis Chapman's newest song to be released is called "Cinderella" which he wrote for his daughters. It is exquisite and will melt the heart of any daddy of a little girl. Even if you don't like his style of music, it is heart warming. And in light of the circumstances, devastating. I urge you to have a listen. You'll want to run and find your kids and hold on as tight as you can.

I've been a basketcase with my kids in parking lots and in the driveway since learning about this young girl's tragic death.

Here is a site to express condolences:

I remember when I first heard that Cinderella song, I teared up thinking about my husband and daughter someday when she gets married...my husband responded that he didn't even want to think about that!!!!

I cried when I first heard it. I know how the death of a child can hurt a family. But they have a strong faith and it will carry them.
