Wild ride

Hey all, we are doing fine here in smokey San Diego. The last several days have been a wild ride, but I happy to say that myself and everyone I know are safe and sound. We did evacuate for one night but were able to return the next day. No damage done except the think ash covering our streets, yard, car, even inside our home. I don't personally know anyone who has lost their home. But my heart goes out to the 1000+ who have to return home to find nothing but soot.

I can't help but think as I watch the ashes float down from the sky that those are someone else's memories. Perhaps remains of their wedding photos, their son's favorite blanket, or their well read Bible. Each time I brush dust off of my table I am thankful that it is still standing there to do so.

Keep San Diego in your prayers. There is a lot of heart ache abouning and many people still need prayer for their safety.

I'm glad you guys are ok.
I was thinking about you every time I watched the news in horror.
Every night I send my thoughts out towards those who need them, hopefully this will all end soon!

I am glad that the only problem this has caused for you is soot. Fire is always sad and destroys so nuch.

That is such a good point. Even though things are just things, it is terrible to see all the memories go up in flames and be left with nothing. My heart goes out to all of these people.

Glad to hear you're all safe and sound. Also, spread a little happy birthday vibe from us to GingersDad.

Glad you and the family are okay and that you still have your home with all its memories inside. So many people get so used to the terrible things on the news, they don't stop and think about the things you wisely pointed out.

My neighbor is from San Diego and her family is still there. Some had to evacuate but they and there homes are okay.
