A whole lotta crap

Good news: My diet is going well and I am now down 11.2 lbs! I am more than half way to my goal. This WW thing has been working really well for me. I had high hopes that it would have been much faster, but I am happy with the results none the less. I also thought I would have seen a difference in my body by now, but it seems the same. How much weight do you have to lose to look in the mirror and feel and look different? I have never stuck to a diet longer than 2 weeks, so I am impressed with myself for hanging in there.

Bad news: I've been bogged down with sick children for I don't know how long. We went from colds to stomach flu to tonsilitis. Dan and I have not slept a good night in weeks. Vincent was up LITERALLY all night having a tantrum in his room. Engaging him escalates the tantrum, so we have learned to ignore him. He won't listen to me at all, but will obey Dan. I am not sure what to do about that. I'm not a softie...I don't allow disrespectful behavior. I wish I knew what I was doing wrong. If I don't get some sleep, pretty soon I am going to start halucinating...I just know it. Oh...excuse me...I gotta go catch that life size twinkie running around my house and eat it....

I doubt you're doing anything wrong. It's just that Daddy has a deeper voice.

A big CONGRATS on the weight loss.

I'm sorry your kids are sick.

Ugh! I would have to read this on the night I pigged out on Indian food. Don't bother looking up the points. You just say "Indian Food" and they deduct 600 points from your account.

To get an idea of the weight loss, try taking a picture of yourself in the mirror (or have Dan take it) for your "BEFORE" picture. When you lose your next 11 lbs, look back at that first pic.

You don't look any different to yourself because you see yourself every day and the change is happening slowly. But I'm sure that people outside of your daily routine would notice. Keep up the good work!

Sounds like you are doing really well. I've heard really good things with WW. Yes, take a swimsuit picture of yourself......I know, it sounds scarey but really, it works.

Sorry your kidlets have been sick. Vincent is just in a stage. Joshua will tell me to "Go bye bye Mommy. Just Daddy can play! GO AWAY!" It was funny for a couple of days. (We didn't laugh at it in front of him)Then it started getting to be a little out of control.

This is what works for us. Mike stepped in and repremanded him at that point and told him not to talk to Mommy that way. Same if he doesn't listen to me if I ask him to do something. Mike will step in and say, "We need to listen and obey Mommy when she asks you to do something or you get punished." What Daddy says is golden in our house so it works for us. Mike's not home when it happens, I give him a time out and then we end up talking about it at the dinner table when Daddy comes home(that's usually enough). If the rolls are reversed and Josh isn't listening to Daddy, then I step in and give the same speech.

Poor you - it's terrible when the kids are sick like that. We've been lucky this year (knock on wood).
Way to go with the weigh loss! You'll notice it later - that happens with me when I lose weight. I don't notice it while I'm losing it but I'll notice it after its gone. Its weird, but it's the way it is.

Hope you are feeling better real soon...
Sounds like you guys have had your fill...
And I figure dealing with a kid having a temper tantrum burns off more calories than a day at the gym...
