Seeing Stars

I am seeing my house in a whole new light now. I have been scouring every nook and cranny in search of things I can sell. All the stuff in my house now has a dollar sign attached to it in my greedy little brain. I find myself staring at my husband sitting in our chair and thinking, "I could sell that....I wonder how much I could get for him?" Oops,I mean the chair....really...
I found the crinoline from my wedding dress the other day and decided I could sell that. When am I gonna use that? Since it is a rather unique item I thought I could post it online as well. So I hauled the enormous thing inside and plopped it onto the couch where it sat like a giant frothy meringue. Hmmmm...that looks silly. So I decided to hang it to take a picture, where to hang it...where to hang it?
Brilliant idea!!
I'll hang it from the china cabinet in the living room. There is a heavy vase on top, and so I looped the crinoline around the vase from the drawstring on the skirt. The crinoline is very lightweight for it's size so it worked perfectly. I snapped some pictures and the realized it still looked too floofy so I went over and tugged on the sides. Hmmm....still to poofy, so I gave it one more hard tug. Bad idea.
I looked up and saw that stupid vase hurling itself towards me and BLAMO! It wailed me right on top of my head sending me to the floor in searing pain. I am mouthing the word "SH*T" over and over. Wanting desperately to be screaming but holding it in as my kids dance around me giggling.
Another lesson learned. No real damage done except to my ego. Of course as I am lying there I see one of the kid's toys under the couch...."Hey I could sell that...."

The key is that once you take all the stuff to your parents, don't bring it back. Take whatever is left and donate it. It's so great to get rid of old junk!

I'm a little envious. I've always wanted to have a garage sale. It's so cleansing to get rid of your useless shit.

The drawing at the fortress was late today but you won. You need to go to the blog and pick a prize.

After all that trouble, I hope you get a good offer on it! The pictures look good if that's any consolation :)

You're making me feel guilty as I need to venture into my basement and clean and purge. At least one of us is doing it... hehe

Have fun! I'm very much looking forward to gorging rather than purging when we get back. Being able to buy things for my house.....my permanent house!
