And it's only 8:30??

I have had an eventful morning so far. I got up, showered, managed to get 3 kids dressed and out the door to drop Red off at school. Not too bad. It's when I got HOME that things started getting hairy.
I walked in the door and heard Stinky grunting and turning red in the face. "Let's go sit on the potty," I am screaming at him and running him down the hall, tucked under my arm like a football. (we are in the beginning stages of potty training) I get hiim stripped down and YES I got him there in time. We sat...and sat...and sat. Nothing. "All done all done all done!" OK. I release the little monster and go off in search of a fresh diaper for him. We'll battle this again later. As I walk back into the family room with diaper in hand I see that he has peed on the floor. Great. Went off in search of a towel to mop that mess up and as I am passing by the office, there is Stinky...pooping on the floor and smearing the awful mess all over his body. EWWWW....
Off to the bathroom for a rinse off and scrub down. At this point I have poop all over my white t-shirt, of course. I have to put Stinky down on the floor, mess and all to clean out all of the toys from the tub. Grrrr.... I put him in, clean him off and then wrap him up in a towel. "Noooooo! Baaaaathhhhh!! MOOOOREEE!" He is screaming at me. Screaming turns into a full blown fit, and he slips and bonks his head on the bathroom scale. And ended up with this gorgeous goose egg on his noggin. When is Dan coming home??????

**Since I have been a lazy bum this week I'll put off my comment awards until the weekend. Think of something witty! You could possibly win stellar fame...on just my blog...that only a few of you read...

Good one - bathroom scale. "walked into door" and "fell down the stairs" are getting old anyways. Whatever - I see your shoe print there.
You're lucky he didn't poop in the bath as well. You gotta love it when you leave them in the tub and come back a minute later and there's a floater. Or 6.
Just think: One day, when you have alzheimers, you can do it back to him!

Well, I too have a messy pooper. If we leave Landon too long in his crib after his nap or in the morning, I sometimes have pooh everywhere. He manages to take off his diaper and get pooh all over him, his clothes, his sheets, the floor, and yes even the crib. Nothing like having to do laundry as soon as I get up. I totally understand what you are going through, only I still have about 18 months to go before I start potty training, or is 1 too early? Hmmmmmm

I think your new house is a danger zone for goose eggs. At least Stinky didn't try getting Brady with his painting...

Jes - I think you are right!

DIanne - EW! That sucks. I am lucky my kids don't generally do that. They do OTHER gross stuff.

Kelly - Uh oh...you're onto me. GOod thing I have PLENTY of dirt on you

OMG, that was one poopy catastrophe. I guess everyone gets their battle scars during potty training--you got the poopy shirt and he got the goose egg! Not sure which is worse!

Oh, and thanks for your comments on my blog today re. the breastfeeding stuff. Who knew body parts could be so controversial! LOL

wow, what a goose egg! It must be very painful to the poor boy. Whereas on the other hand, I could understand how you feel. I have tried to start potty training with my younger boy but it seems to be a long way to go...

Thanks for your comments on my blog which is encouraging indeed - knowing that I am not too bad a mother. :)

My son used to paint with his poop.

My husband called him Pablo Poopcasso.

Oh man! My three-yo is all about, "Do I have to poop in the toilet AGAIN TODAY?" For the rest of your life, honey!

I posted a huge-ish comment under your "What do I do with these kids to keep 'em occupied?" post....i couldn't find your email or I'd have just emailed it. I have three boys - 5, 3, and 10 months. So I have a LIST.

found you thru Carolyn - because of your hilarious chicken comment - am enjoying your blog a lot!

I've got the perfect solution to the poop: just attach a plastic bag to his tummy and cut a hole. My son (almost 4 yrs) has a colostomy. So now, instead of poop on the floor, I have to squeeze it out of a bag. It is very similar to using an icing bag. Lovely, no? Good luck with the potty training!

Nicki emailed your blog, hope you don't mind.
I have 2 under the age of 2 with a hubby that is deployed alot in teh Navy too I so do not know how you do it. 3 under the age of 4...girl you are my new hero.
Leah (my almost 2 year old) pooped in the bath tub once and tried to pick it up and hand it to Alan before we could get her out of the tub. The look on my husbands face was priceless!

I am so glad my 'smeared poop' days are over. Yes, they will be over for you too someday. hehe

aaahh the joys of potty training. I can honestly say I don't miss them days. Boys are the worst I think. MY daughter was very easy and no poop messes.
Have a great day the rest of the day. :)

Poor little guy. . . poor you! (Kids get over goose eggs. Poop on a white T-shirt is worse in my book.) I'm already dreading the potty training days, and they're still a couple of years away.
Thanks for reading my blog a couple weeks ago. I have been reading yours since then, just haven't commented on anything until now.
Anyway, it's a new week. (So much more optimistic than thinking, "It's Monday.) Hope this one is better than last. Best of luck with the potty training!

I'm sorry, I can't help but giggle at the description of you running thru the house to get him to the potty on time and then he poops on the floor.

It must have been so frustrating.

You'll look back on it and smile one day.

OHHHH Kristen, been there, done that SOOOO many times. How well I remember those frantic, everything's going wrong all at once moments. Done my share of poopie clean-ups.

Hmmmmm, is that a massive goose-egg on Stinky's head or is he just glad to see me?? (kidding)

You have such a delightful sense of humor through all of this! Keep it up, and you'll still have your sanity when they are all potty-trained. :o)
