Around the house

I have got so much to do around the house today it isn't funny. My room is disgusting. I have got to get organized. Look at the pile of clothes I need to wash and put away! I bought a plastic storage bin so that I can pack away my skinny clothes so that I don't have to look at them. They mock me.
I went to big lots today and found an awesome deal on a bike for Red. It is a Schwinn!! I got it for only $40!! It is purple with little flowers and streamers on the handlebars. I am giddy with excitement. Almost as if it were for me. I can't believe she is big enough to ride a bike...with training wheels of course. But still. She will be 4 in October. So I have to wait a 2 more months to give it to her. That's gonna be hard. Don't worry. It's stealthily hidden...under a blanket with part of the box peeking out.
This is a pic of my cradle that I have used for my kids. My grandpa made it when my oldest brother was born. It is a family treasure. I feel so blessed to use something that he made with his own hands. The babies that sleep in it are children he never met but would have loved so dearly. In a few days, this is going to be shipped off to Temecula for my new little nephew to sleep in so he can join in the wonderful family tradition. I'm going to miss having it, but so glad that all of us kids could use it for our own children.

Love the cradle. It's beautiful & what a great tradition. Can't wait to see the new baby!! What a great time for your parents. So many grands being born at the same time. Ah, I've been there with the messes. I finally have hired a babysitter/mother's helper. Josh has finally gotten to the age where he is unlocking sliding doors and front doors and throwing around my jewelry when I'm not looking. His B-day is coming up soon and his gift is going to be a big boy bed....I totally splurged and got him the Pottery Barn surfer bedding. It is SO cute.

That cradle is so gorgeous! It would be hard for me to part with it, but it is a good tradition.

That cradle is beautiful - what a great tradition! I had something like that for my kids that came from their Dad's side. You should get little brass stick-on plaques engraved with all the babies names that have used it. Then you can put them around the outside. Just an idea....
