Mommy body

I have mommy body. You mothers out there know what I am talking about. The jiggle that never used to be there but has taken up permanent residence somewhere on your person. I used to be thin once. Really thin. I never had to worry about what I ate and never gained an ounce. After my first baby, I lost all the weight and and additional 10 lbs within a few months of giving birth. I look back and think - what a bitch!
And here I am today, a big jiggling cow. You know, the fatty just doesn't disappear after the 2nd and 3rd kid the way you would hope. I burst into tears in my closet the other day as I stared at my clothes hanging in there. They mock me. I hear my size 6 pants calling me names, reminding me of the body that I used to have and will NEVER see again.
I ran out of there trying to block it all out and yell at my husband - "I refuse to be seen with muffin tops!" He stares at me blankly, and slightly scared. I must have been wild eyed and hysterical because he says nothing. So I yell again, "I will not leave this house with muffin tops or back fat!" Still silence. "I need new clothes to hide everything that jiggles." Finally, a glimmer of understanding flashes across his face - "Ok".

Yes, I'm wondering the same thing- what IS a muffin top?

I can SO relate to your feelings about your body. I was a 3/4, 5/6 when I had my first baby. Got back down to 5/6. After my second, I was a 7/8. After my third I was a 9/10 and after my fourth I was a 12. Now, I am working my butt off at the gym literally. I've lost 12 lbs and I'm a size 10. I'd like to get back into an 8. Having babies spreads us a bit, but I still like my body. Uhm, great recommendation- get Nivea Body Firming Lotion. That stuff really helped tone up my jelly belly. If nothing else works, you can always get a tummy tuck and enjoy the rest of your life feeling sexy again. Many of my friends have done so and rave about it. You are still VERY young and with some time, you will look better. Try to be patient with yourself. You just completed a herculean task!!!!

Hugs to you!! :o)

A muffin top is the jiggly belly that hangs over the top of your pants. :) Once things get settled down a bit I am hoping to join Weight Watchers, if I can afford it. i have to come to grips that I have 3 kids, getting older and am 5'10" I have to be realistic.

I know how you feel - I have the muffin tops as well. Only because my pants are too tight :).
I've done the slim fast and jogging and it worked really well in the past. Adam just bought me a bike and I'm very excited about it. As soon as I get the little seat for Olivia on the back, I'll be taking off as much as possible.
Kristin: you JUST had a baby. Have some patience!

You have got to give yourself a break. Madison is 13 months and if I wear the wrong top or pants that aren't the best I have muffin top and everyone can see ALL my jiggles. I'm going to try the nivea firming cream that trailady suggested. In a couple months you will be chasing the oldest two while muchkin sleeps don't worry, they're going to work it off you!
Miss you,
Shan

I'm never having another child!! Kristin, just have Dan do an overseas tour and you'll have a free gym and super cheap child care/babysitter!! Ok, I know it's a drastic measure....:) (Seriously, the CDC that I take Josh to is better than most Private Daycares that I've seen)I've lost a lot of flub being here and Mike and I have never had so much time for ourselves. I just do Tues. & Thurs. mornings at the CDC for Josh. You'll loose it. PROMISE! Ah, yes tummy tuck. There was an article about it in Parent's Mag this month if you have a chance to check it out.

It's okay, Kristin! You're right -- our bodies change after babies. Each baby makes a new change. Don't panic! You have a lot to handle right now. Enjoy the babies and just watch your own diet for now. Be healthy. Then, get your exercise where you can. It might not be as easy as the first time, but you'll be just fine! Hang in there and have patience with yourself :o)

Hey thanks you guys... I know I just had a baby. And if that was the problem I'd be easier on myself. My problem is I have NO self discipline. If I just stepped away from the cookies, I would be ok. I need to buckle down and eat healthy - something I have NEVER done before. It's my new resolution. I WILL eat healthy and lose weight. I will keep you posted on how that is going. So far it is still mid morning and I have eaten 2 cookies. Not going so well....

How about we make a deal. Since I'm trying to lose weight too, we should take pics of ourselves forward and sideways and MAIL them (so no one else sees) to each other. Then, in say 6 months, we'll take pictures again. Whoever has lost the most weight gets to have the "loser" fly to their place for a weekend and take the winner out for dinner. Oh, and picture has to be in a bikini.

I don't think I could torture myself by putting ON a bikini let alone taking a picture. Let alone SENDING it to you!! :)
